You make it sound easy, but "Scruffy" is one of the most professionally skillful portraits (of an animal or a person) I've ever seen! You have an incredible technique and ability with colored pencils. All the color and lines you have in the piece work together so beautifully. He's so beautifully orchestrated and alive. Shadow was delivered yesterday and she is absolutely beautiful!!!!! There is NO mistaking that is our Shadow!!!! I still can’t believe you were able to capture her so perfectly from the pictures I sent. I especially love the way her eyes are so realistic, like she is looking right at us!!! Remarkable job!!!! We can’t thank you enough for bringing our Shadow to life. I can’t wait to find the perfect frame for her. We especially want to thank you for completing Shadow’s portrait for us so quickly; as you know it was just a year ago that we lost her and this portrait is our tribute to her for being such a special dog who we saved from possibly living out the rest of her life in a shelter because of her senior age. It came and it's fantastic. I can't begin to describe how wonderful this portrait is and how much it means to me. When I look at the picture I think, "That's my boy. That's Beau." In the portrait you can see each individual hair on Beau. Wow. It still just absolutely floors me the level of detail that Daniele was able to get with colored pencil—it has been mistaken for a photo by more than one person. I never realized a simple colored pencil could be so sophisticated. –Amanda

When my cat PK died several years ago at the age of 17, I was heartbroken. I had gotten him as a kitten and he immediately became a part of the family. Daniele had already done a portrait of our dog, Redford, so I knew that I wanted a portrait of PK. It hangs in our hallway next to Redford's portrait, and everyone that comes into our home wants to know who created these wonderful portraits. Although Cutest Baby is not a pet portrait, it is a portrait of 'my baby' and I think you did a phenomenal job capturing her irresistibly lovable cuteness at that age. Even better, instead of looking at a 5x3-inch photo every few years while browsing through a photo album or shoebox of pictures, I can enjoy the memories anytime just by glancing across the room. The picture of my childhood home is mounted above my fireplace and I can always look at it and feel like I am back in Tennessee. The fact that you had never seen our home and the exact likeness you sketched from many old pictures was remarkable. Your talents are never ending. Your art is so elegant.

Now, with my family picture it was previewed at a family reunion where not only my brother and sisters were there but my mother and father's siblings were there as well. I passed out tissues before I showed the portrait and I am so glad I did. It is so stunning. That portrait means more than you will ever know. Our family constantly talked about having a family portrait one day, but like so many things in life, it was put off and then my parents passed away. You created a dream come true for my family and it is so beautiful. Thank you for all of your hard work. You will never know the joy your art has given others. –Janice
